THEY WON A FREEWAY SERIES! THEY WON A FREEWAY SERIES!
… despite getting ‘no-hit.’ Only in LA.
Onto Houston! Tally ho!

We didn’t win a freeway series – I don’t think multiple hours away (aka The Rangers) counts the same. Plus we didn’t win that one. BUT. As I predicted (per my vote on the Astros website poll), we did take 2 out of 3 against last year’s world series champs. That was quite nice. I can only hope they carry that momentum into the next series, ahem.
Do you remember An American Tail? (Ha! I just got the play on words. I’m smart.) You know that song Somewhere Out There? “…beneath the pale moonlight…” (squeaky mouse voice) That’ll totally be us tonight except instead of wishing on the same bright star, we’ll be screaming at the same bad ump. *tear* Now I’ve gone above and beyond. Below is my ode to watching a baseball game, but on different sides of the park, to the tune of Somewhere Out There.
Somewhere out there beneath the outfield lights
Someone’s thinking of me and cursing me tonight
Somewhere out there someone’s saying a prayer
That we’ll beat one another in that big ballpark out there
And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing on the our own homerun stars
And when the ninth inning starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It hurts to think you might be cheering underneath the same big sky
Somewhere out there if baseball can see us through
Then we’ll be together somewhere out there
Out where small ball dreams come true
Go ‘Stros!

Bravo. If I were wearing a hat, I’d take it off to you (or at least in your general direction).
Let’s pretend I genuflected instead.
